Professor Leconte and his research group published the article:
- “Mutant polymerases capable of 2鈥� fluoro-modified nucleic acid synthesis and amplification with improved accuracy鈥� in聽Royal Society of Chemistry – Chemical Biology. 聽This work was executed and co-authored in its entirety by four Keck Science Department undergraduates: Trevor Christensen (CMC聽鈥�22), Kristi Lee (SCR聽鈥�20), Simone Gottlieb (SCR聽鈥�21) and Mikayla Carrier (SCR聽鈥�21). 聽In the work, they describe new methods for making the synthesis of unnatural forms of DNA more accurate. 聽This work has implications for the use of unnatural DNA in medicine and disease diagnostics.
