Professor Branfman performed 鈥淩OPE – An evening of intertwining dance and film about incarceration and freedom,鈥 at the Miles Memorial Playhouse, Santa Monica, CA, February 2020. She gave a guest artist workshop/lecture 鈥淐horeographing Women鈥檚 Stories鈥 at the California Institution for Women, Chino, CA, March 聽2020. Professor Branfman, in collaboration with聽 Ernst Fenelon Jr, Chris Rowan, Marc Antoni Charcas, presented 鈥淯ndanced Dances Through Prison Walls During a Pandemic – An hour of readings of dances as imagined inside the CRC prison during spring 2020,鈥 as the culmination of the project 鈥淐horeographing Our Stories鈥 which 聽was abruptly ended in March 2020 due to Covid-19. The event was produced as a part of Jail Bed Drop Project at SOLA Contemporary Gallery, June 2020. She was a recipient of a 2020 Claremont Colleges Diversity Teaching Award. |
