Search the Collections

Denison Library materials are described and accessible using a variety of databases and discovery tools.  Because of the varied nature of the library’s collections, there is no single tool that exhaustively searches all of the library’s materials. We recommend that researchers use a combination of the following tools to achieve the most thorough search and then request their items using our Aeon software link.

All cataloged published items, including books, pamphlets, ephemera, artists’ books, and periodicals are discoverable in the online catalog.  Some archival materials have collection-level records in the online catalog, as well as some single item manuscripts; for more detailed information about larger archival collections, consult the online finding aids on the Online Archive of California.

A collaborative repository for finding aids and other inventory information about larger archival and manuscript collection, the Online Archive of California provides information about the arrangement, contents and context of these materials and helps researchers to identify what to request through Aeon.

This database contains digitized images of photographs, documents, rare books, and publications from Denison Library’s collection as well as from The Claremont Colleges Library and the Williamson Gallery at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ.  Some oral history films related to the college’s history, created by Scripps Core course students, are also included on this site.  This collection of digitized material does not contain images of every item in Denison Library; the items represented were scanned for research requests, digital projects, academic courses, and exhibitions.  Images displayed in this collection may be limited in their chronological scope due to copyright restrictions.
